After talking to my cousin who lives on the east coast, the media and the federal government has been spreading a huge amount of disinformation about what is happening in Los Angeles about the protests.  I say "protests" not "Rioting", which is what has been happening.  The federal government is handing out propaganda and lies to the American public to create chaos to justify their actions.

It appears that in America if your skin is not white, you are a criminal. But wouldn't that make HIM a criminal?

The governor went on to call Trump's decision to deploy the National Guard "a manufactured crisis," then addressed White House border czar Tom Homan's threats of arrest. "Tom, arrest me. Let's go," Newsom said. The governor also plans to sue the Trump administration over its deployment of the National Guard.

Gov. Newsom's objections continued on Sunday morning, as troops were beginning to stage in Los Angeles.

"Trump is sending 2,000 National Guard troops into LA County — not to meet an unmet need, but to manufacture a crisis. He’s hoping for chaos so he can justify more crackdowns, more fear, more control. Stay calm. Never use violence. Stay peaceful," the governor shared.

He also criticized a Truth Social post from the president, congratulating the National Guard for a job well done. Newsom said the troops had not yet arrived in the city when that post was shared.

 He later said Trump was trying to “manufacture a crisis.” 

 

Rep. Maxine Waters, who represents a portion of Los Angeles in Congress, joined protesters on Sunday outside the Metropolitan Detention Center.

"There's no reason to be here with the National Guard. The president of the United States is cruel," Waters told CNN. "This honorable human being who would just as soon they shoot somebody down, but I don't want that to happen. I do not. I want the elected officials to do everything that we can to dissuade them from what they're doing."

 

California Attorney General Rob Bonta said his office has been in touch with local law enforcement in Los Angeles.

"They have the resources they need to meet the moment, and we stand ready to assist should the need arise. There is no emergency and the President’s order calling in the National Guard is unnecessary and counterproductive," Bonta said.

 

Meanwhile, California's Assembly Speaker and Senate Pro Tempore said the move to call upon the National Guard is making the situation worse.

"Donald Trump is manufacturing chaos against Californians to justify a federal crackdown and use of military force. As citizens, we have the power – together – to withhold this from Trump by peacefully speaking out… Do not take Trump’s bait. Do not engage in violent protest. Doing so will give him what he wants," said Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas.

During his first term, Trump mused on several occasions about deploying US troops on domestic soil, either to crush protests or tamp down on crime. Aides at the time talked Trump out of the move, which would amount to a dramatic step without recent precedent.

Now, however, the president is less encumbered by aides who seek to restrain his more extreme impulses. And after a campaign during which Trump promised crackdowns on crime and illegal immigration, he appears eager to demonstrate a willingness to use maximalist actions to follow through on his pledges.
